According to me, the Battle of Vicksburg was more of a “turning point” in the War. It was because of the brilliance of General Ulysses S. Grant that this battle was won. Vicksburg is located on the east bank of the Mississippi River, halfway between Memphis to the north and New Orleans to the south. This battle took place between springs of 1862 to July of 1863("Siege of Vicksburg", 2019).
